A few things I want to remember about Virginia at two months
(other than the fact that she is beautiful, sweet, and perfect in every way):
-She has slept from around 9:30pm until 5:30-6:30a.m for the past week.
-She's gotten into a pretty good routine of eating, being awake, then napping. This is probably because I have done a better job of giving her a more defined nap time (wrapped in a blanket, in her crib... as opposed to in my arms, in her swing, etc.)
-We will go for V's two month appointment on Wednesday, but I'm pretty sure the doc is going to say she's eating JUST fine! (One look at those cheeks and double chin will tell you that.)
-She takes a bottle like a champ, if we are around company that I don't want to nurse in front of. (I pump once, sometimes twice, a day.)
-After she eats around 6:30 or 7:00pm, she wants to be left alone and put in bed! We figured this out after a couple weeks of trying to console her while she cried pretty much all evening.
-When she gets mad, she gets MAD. Fairly often I have to "comfort nurse" her to calm her down. My mom (well actually, my whole family) will tell you that I was like that my entire childhood... Once I started crying, I couldn't stop!
-She is great at being toted around. We pretty much do anything with her that we would've done before we had a baby. You could argue that formula-feeding is easier than breastfeeding, but it's sure nice not to have to get bottles together before we go anywhere. If we're shopping and she's hungry, I just pop in a dressing room. (Target, Old Navy, J Crew, Belk, and Dick's, so far!) If we're on the road, we'll just pull over to a parking lot. Easy peasy!
