I was beyond amazed at how many people traveled a good distance to be there for this celebration -- my cousin Rebecca drove from Auburn with her own baby girl, my long lost friend Katie came from Nashville, my sister came from Mobile, and aunts and mothers came from Florence. There was such a great mixture of folks that I have been close with over the years, some new friends and some old. I love seeing the interactions of people who don't know each other... neighbors with childhood friends, aunts with high school friends... Seeing the smiles on everyone's faces and talking with all those present was a reminder of how loved this Little girl will be (and already is). I cannot WAIT for everyone to meet Virginia!
We got pretty stocked up on some very, very nice gifts at this shower as well. Tons of cute duds for Miss V, an A.W.E.S.O.M.E. stroller that deserves its own post, diapers, etc, etc, etc. I have spent my days since then washing clothes, organizing drawers, and trying to figure out how we are going to fit this little girl's things in our house!
