Guest Room

The guest room is complete and we really like it. Sometimes we think about having a stay-cation and just moving into this room for a few days. It consists of a headboard and lamps snagged from Dad's old apartment in Texas, old pictures from Doc's office, bedding that I think was my sister's over ten years ago, a sewing machine table from Aunt Becky that we're using as a nightstand, etc, etc.... I didn't buy anything except for $1 in scrap fabric to make a pillow! (Which is glue gunned.... more on my love for glue guns later!)

This desk is where I get ready every day because the bathroom has no storage space or counter top. I usually call this "my room" because all of my clothes are in that dresser and closet. (Apparently people didn't have as much stuff in 1947... which has really made me reconsider all of the things that I think I need.) The picture collage has old pictures of our grandparents and great-grandparents. I absolutely love looking at these pictures everyday!

The bathroom is small but nice. I am so glad that the tile was white and black instead of Pepto Bismal pink (like several other houses we looked at). We ripped out an old medicine cabinet that was in there and just hung this black mirror instead. The window treatment is (yet again) glue gunned and safety pinned. This was some of Hailey's leftover fabric that I took from Mom's basement. (If you ever need fabric you should check out the stash down there... between Mom and Hailey, the selection is like Hancocks.)

(We do have a shower curtain in there.... I think I had taken it down to wash that day.)
More to come! Also - check out Jon and Katie's new blog here!
